Allan Spenture Waity is an elite professional kickboxer based in Port Moresby, representing Central Province in local and national competitions. He hails from the Lioni Clan of Maimafu Village, Unavi Constituency, Lufa District, Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, a region bordering Chimbu and Gulf Province. His journey into kickboxing began in 2018 when the “Yoga & Walk for Life” program was introduced in the National Capital District, with Gimabo Boxing Club engaged to conduct self-defence and kickboxing training as part of the program.
More than 200 freshmen initially joined the training. However, as the training became increasingly demanding, the numbers gradually decreased. Allan describes this period as an “extraction process,” where only those who remained committed and disciplined survived the challenging training. After months of dedication, he became one of the top eight fighters selected to prepare for Sunday public Carter performances. It was during this period that Head Coach Thomas Kagili recognised his potential and considered him among the cream of the original group of trainees.
Allan trained for two years before illness forced him away from the sport for another two years. Determined to continue his journey, he returned to kickboxing in November 2023 and worked his way back into competitive form. Today, he is among Papua New Guinea's international-level fighters and continues to represent Central Province with pride. Beyond competition, Allan serves as Manager of Gimabo Boxing Club for NCD and Central Province, overseeing GBC Central and conducting kickboxing training for young people aged 7–15 and 16–25. He also serves as Secretary of both the NCD and Central Province Kickboxing Associations.
His leadership extends beyond sport. As a Pathfinder Director and Adventist Youth Ministry leader in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Allan has more than 17 years of leadership experience within the church itself. His foundation in youth ministry has strengthened his commitment to discipline, service, mentorship and positive leadership. Through kickboxing and youth development, he continues to inspire the younger generation and is regarded as a disciplined professional whose influence reaches far beyond the ring.
